If you have never before attended a Twitter party--welcome! Twitter parties are fast-paced and sometimes a little confusing at first. Just sit back and join in a conversation or two and don't worry about trying to keep up with every Tweet! Just have fun!

There are free programs out there that help users to better follow along with the party conversations. They're called "aggregators" and you can find a few here: TweetDeck, Hootsuite, TweetGrid or TweetChat.

You will see three, pre-set columns: one the follows all tweets containing our hashtag (#parentsnitein), the center column that lists all tweets by your party hosts, and a final column for you to enter your own Twitter ID. That way, if anyone replies to you, you'll see those tweets too! (A note about TweetChat: Sometimes the center column freezes up during a party, while the other columns keep on rolling. If that happens, you might want to change the header in the column simply to @Gis4Girl. That way at least you won't miss a trivia question!)

Yet another option is to follow us on our very own Twubs page, which can be found at: http://www.twubs.com/parentsnitein. The great thing about Twubs is that if Twitter goes down, you can keep right on tweeting. You don't need to join Twubs; just log in with your Twitter ID. If Twitter has any problems, the party lives on at Twubs!

Rules for "Parents Nite In(spired)" Twitter Party:

No purchase necessary. All participants must have a Twitter account, which can be opened for free at Twitter.

How to enter: Beginning at 9:00 PM EST on June 9, 2010 and ending 11:00 PM EST on June 9, 2010, Erin Boudreau (http://www.twitter.com/gis4girl) on behalf of all persons and companies sponsoring "Parents Nite In(spired)" will send trivia questions in the form of "tweets" to all attendees in the Twitter community asking them to "tweet" answers via Twitter or Twubs to win prizes. All attendees must use the @ symbol to respond directly to @Gis4Girl in order to qualify to win the prizes. Winners will be chosen based on the order in which their tweet was received. For example, if one question states that the third person to answer correctly wins, the winner's tweet must appear third on Twitter.com or Twubs.com.
